Best Features of the Women’s Giro Terra MIPS Ski and Snowboard Helmet
Before picking anything in life, you need to know what’s so good about it that could sway you into buying something or not. The same goes for ski and snowboard helmets.
This, after all, is something that will save your life, so you need to make sure you pick the right one.

Here, I list the best features of the women’s Giro Terra MIPS ski and snowboard helmet and how they might sway your decision.
MIPS impact protection
Thanks to its MIPS system, the women’s Giro Terra MIPS helmet provides added protection for when you’re hitting those slopes. I love helmets designed with the MIPS system as it means I can spend more time enjoying the mountains rather than worrying about whether my helmet is fit to protect my head.
And while there are good helmets available that don’t have MIPS integrated, I’m more likely to choose one that does.
Venting system
For the 2024 helmet, riders can enjoy the cooling capabilities of the women’s Giro Terra MIPS helmet thanks to the Thermostat Controlled Venting System. With the help of a control button on the side of the helmet, you can custom-tune the airflow.
With the 2023 model, there is a Passive Aggressive Venting System that delivers the best airflow and temperature regulation while you’re on the move. After all, who wants a hot head when you’re zipping around the mountain?
Goggle compatibility
Another great feature of this helmet is that it’s compatible with all Giro goggles and most brands for a seamless look on the mountain. And there isn’t that dreaded gap between your helmet and goggles. To secure your goggles, you can attach the strap behind the clip on the back of the helmet, ensuring your goggles won’t come off even when you’re having a well-earned drink up the mountain.
Achieve the best fit
In addition to being goggle-compatible, the women’s Giro Terra MIPS helmet gives the wearer the best fit. This is achieved with its On the Fly Vertical Dial tuning system, giving control to the user to achieve the ideal fit even when they’re on the go. No one wants a wobbly helmet when you’re racing down the mountain to make that last lift for one more run!
It’s available in S (52-55.5cm) and M (55.5-59cm).
Lightweight
Weighing only 400g, the women’s Giro Terra MIPS helmet is light, but remains sturdy when you’re wearing it. The last thing you want is to feel weighed down when you’re cruising around the mountain, and you don’t get that with this helmet.

Women’s Giro Terra MIPS Price
This is another expensive helmet, but don’t let the price tag stop you from purchasing it if it takes your fancy. You can buy this helmet from several retailers, but expect to pay around £140.

My Experience
I love the fact that this is a women’s specific helmet. It’s lightweight and has a sleek, stylish design that I find appealing to the eye.
The only downside to it is that it doesn’t come in bigger sizes. If you’ve read my other helmet reviews, you’ll know that I have a lot of curly hair, and I feel I could have gone up a size to get a better fit that wasn’t too tight.
Other than that, I really like the design and the fact that it has the MIPS system.
